Hallelujah!!! Jesus is Alive!!!
Posted by: | Comments
Hallelujah Jesus is alive
Death has lost its victory
And the grave has been denied
Jesus lives forever
He’s alive, He’s alive
He’s the alpha and omega
the first and last is he
the curse of sin is broken
and we are perfect liberty
lamb of god has risen
he’s alive, He’s alive
Hallelujah, Jesus is alive

Aramaic Easter Celebration in Tur-Abdin, Southeast Turkey — 19-26 April 2011

Traditional Easter celebration in Tur-Abdin, Southeast Turkey
For 30-40 years, most Diaspora Arameans have not returned, let alone celebrated traditional feasts in their homeland. Therefore, the Syriac Universal Alliance (SUA) offers circa 150 Arameans from all over the world a unique experience to relive their childhood and bring up memories with fellow people in the place that gave birth to them and/or their (grand)parents.
In celebrating Passion Week and Easter, SUA offers them the chance to experience a spiritual and cultural pilgrimage in Tur-Abdin and its surroundings in Southeast Turkey. In reality, for most Arameans who originate from this ancient region this unique experience is no less than the pilgrimage to the Holy City of Jerusalem in Israel.
Additionally, the ancient Syriac Orthodox Saint Gabriel Monastery (397 A.D.) recently lost 2 crucial court cases. Many villages may lose millions of square meters of land; newly constructed buildings in Beth Zabday (Azekh) may be demolished. Arameans there are insecure and fearful about their future: does Tur-Abdin in fact have a future? Therefore, SUA will celebrate Easter this year with the local Bishops and communities of Adiyaman, Mardin and Midyat/Tur-Abdin to give them moral & financial support! Join SUA in supporting them.
Support this message by putting it in your Facebook status and/or by inviting all your relatives and friends so that they can also become part of this spiritual, cultural and historic journey back home from 19-26 April 2011.

Loboc kids singing during the Hugos (salubong) easter sunday celeb. Background music by the Loboc Children’s Choir. Musical accompaniment by the Loboc Youth Ambassador members.
Hugos which literally means “to hang” is the re-enactment of the meeting of Mary and Jesus at the dawn of Easter Sunday and the coming down of the Angel Gabriel to give the good news of Jesus’ resurrection. This practice is observed not only in Loboc but by all Boholanos with much reverence and adoration. From different starting points, all the women (led by the image of the Blessed Virgin) and all the men (led by the image of the Risen Christ) met at a designated place which is a raised open dais where small children garbed in an angel’s garment gathers. An angel who can sing is hanged by the waist and is lowered down while singing the Regina Coeli followed by the antiphonal singing between the other angels and the congregation present. A Latin psalm, the Una Sabatorum, is usually sung by two angels during the event. Holy Mass follows. In Bohol, a stone arc at the front of the church can be seen in all old churches with an opening in the center where the angel is lowered.

Why do Christians celebrate Easter which is originally a pagan celebration?
Posted by: | CommentsThe holiday was originally a pagan celebration that worshipped the goddess Eastre. She was the goddess of fertility and springtime and her earthly symbol was the rabbit.
Christians are celebrating The Resurrection Of Yeshua/Jesus.
John 11
Amplified Bible (AMP)
25Jesus said to her, I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live;
